I turned 45 last Friday. The Sunday after, I went to Barnes & Noble bookstore looking for a book on healthy, natural, organic cooking and eating. What I found was not what I expected or even knew that I wanted. I found a book on treating your body & our world more kindly. It is called the Kind Diet, but don’t let the title mislead you because the author uses the word ‘diet’ in its original context, not what we mean today. ‘Diet’ means “a way of living, or thinking, a day’s journey”. This was its definition in the 1600′s. This book resonates within me. If you have every felt that something you have read has ‘felt right’, then you know what I mean. This book’s information feels ‘right’ to me.
So, I started my journey of being and eating kind on Sunday, the evening before my 1st day back to school. I woke up & thought, “now, what am I going to eat at school?”. Well, I have been winging it this week. No meat since Sunday. I did have eggs on Monday and cheese Tues & today. No milk starting today. So, it’s been baby steps this week and I feel lighter already!
You may be asking yourself, “What is she talking about?” I am talking about being a vegan. Yes, I know, right?! Totally bizarre and out of left field!
That’s what I am doing & it feels right! ; )
